We are looking for a Production Manager in a very well established company (plastic industry) located in Ville St-Laurent.

As a Production Manager, you will supervise, control and administer the operations of the plant. You will lead the production supervision team to meet and respect production objectives and standards. You will participate in the implementation and ensure compliance with the requirements of quality programs (HACCP, BRC), good practices in occupational health and safety and other procedures and policies applicable within the company. Your role will be to mobilize staff to achieve established objectives in terms of quality, efficiency, cost -effectiveness and safety at work.

Responsabilities

  • Develops and implements programs to maximize the use of raw materials, manpower and

equipment;

  • Implements good manufacturing practices to maximize operational efficiency, optimize production processes and reduce costs;
  • Plans and coordinates the manufacturing activities including manpower planning (production & set-up);
  • Participates in the implementation of HACCP, BRC standards and ensure the application of the

quality control process such as: hygiene and quality requirements;

  • Establishes productivity objectives with the Plant Manager and ensures that these objectives are

met;

  • Plans and prepares the plant inventory;
  • Responsible for adjusting the inventory on a weekly basis;
  • Responsible for the cycle counts;
  • Responsible for managing the needs of agency staff;
  • Manages the vacation schedule for the factory employees;
  • Review employee hours on our ADP payroll system;
  • Monitors and analyzes performance indicators and make necessary improvements;
  • Establishes work schedules for employees of various department related to operations;
  • Member of the OHS Committee and actively participates in health and safety improvements;
  • Actively participates in the process of continuous improvement and audits of internal and external clients;
  • Supports and supervises production supervisors and team leaders;
  • Involved in the hiring and training process of new employees;
  • Executes the performance evaluations for direct reports;
  • Act as a coach to implement and change certain mentalities and working methods in order to ensure the development of the team;
  • Optimizes productivity costs and suggests ways to reduce waste;
  • Ensures the implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures;
  • Participates in union meeting with the Plant Manager;
  • Implements effective problem-solving systems;
  • Work with the OHS Coordinator to reduce risks and ensure compliance with standards and laws.

Qualifications required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business Administration or Engineer degree preferred;
  • 5 to 7 years or more of experience in a management role in a manufacturing plant;
  • Knowledge of OHS & HR laws and regulations;
  • Knowledge of the plastic industry an asset;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office;
  • General office skills;
  • Strong leadership skills.

*Salary: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 /year (based on experience)
